Skip Logic Algorithms

You can apply skip logic to all the question types. When you add more than one condition to skip and move to another page, Dropthought uses AND and OR operators. The question types and supported operators are below for setting up these conditions.

You can add one or more choices for the operators “is answered with” and “is not answered with.”

Open Ended

For the operators “contains the text” and “does not contain the text,” you can add words that should be used to satisfy the condition. They can be added comma-separated.

Multiple Open Ended

  • does not contain the text

  • is answered

In the case of “is between,” you can select two values setting the range to complete the condition.

Respondent Tracker

For the operators “contains the text” and “does not contain the text,” you can add words that should be used to satisfy the condition. They can be added comma-separated.

Ranking Question

  • is ranked with

  • is ranked greater than

  • is ranked greater than equal to

  • is ranked between

You can add a rank for all operators except for “is ranked the between.”

If you have ‘NA’ added as an option, it can be used for skip logic.

In case of “is ranked, " must have to choose a range of numbers (rank) to complete the condition.

Slider Question

  • is greater than

  • is greater than equal to

  • is less than

  • is less than equal to

  • is equal to

  • is between

  • is answered

  • is not answered

  • is not answered with

Matrix Choice Questions

Select options (one or more) from the column labels, row labels, and choices. You can select multiple choices for the skip logic. The combination will follow the ‘OR’ operation.

Picture Choice Questions

  • is answered with (equal to)

  • is not answered with (not equal to)

  • is answered

  • is not answered

Select options (one or more) from the choices. You can select single or multiple choices for the skip logic. The combination will follow the ‘OR’ operation.
You will be prompted upon adding a duplicate condition.

File Upload Questions

  • is answered

  • is not answered

Select filter type from the options (one or more). The combination will follow the ‘OR’ operation.

Statement Questions

  • Viewed (if the user has already landed on the page, then it is assumed that the text is viewed)

  • Not viewed (if the user has not landed on the page, then it's assumed as not viewed)

Click "Create a branch" and then choose the page where you want the user to go after reading the statement. You can only pick one page

Poll Questions

  • is answered with (equal to)

  • is not answered with (not equal to)

  • is answered

  • is not answered

Choose one or more options from the choices. You can select single or multiple choices.
If you pick 'is answered with' or 'is not answered with,' a new section will appear with options provided in the question, each with a checkbox.
If you choose multiple choices in one condition, it follows an 'OR' rule, while 'AND' applies between different conditions.
